Q: Do I have to be a Master on my instrument to attend a Master Class?
A: Nope, we welcome all levels of instruments in our Master Classes. Master Class is our term for 'homeroom' or the most indepth class of the day. They are various levels as indicated in their descriptions, or an all levels course if there is only one class for that instrument. You do not need to be advanced to attend. These classes meet each day for 75 minutes, and we ask that you pre-register for your preferred class. If you arrive at camp and feel that your class is not a good fit, we will be happy to help you find the right one.
Q: What If I discover the class I signed up for is the wrong level for me?
A: Thats ok, it happens all the time! Talk to your teacher or one of the organizers as soon as you realize this, and we'll make sure you get transferred into the right class.
Q: Can I bring my dog, cat, pygmy elephant or other darling fur baby with me?
A: Nope. The facility at Seven Springs is a pet free zone.
Q: Really??!!Buuuut they are super well behaved, and I love them like a child, and I'll get homesick without them. A: Still nope.
Q: What if they are my certified assistance/guide animal? A: In this case we ask that you contact us directly at [email protected] or 1-250-208-6873 to discuss in person.
Q: Will there be kids in my class?
A: Most likely! And they'll be a great addition. Musical kids tend to ask really interesting questions, are super respectful and fun to be around. We also have a young children's program running in the morning so you won't be in class with the little ones. Our goal has been to create a camp that is enjoyable for all ages, as most workshops these days are either kid-centric or adults only. We hope that you'll keep an open mind about sharing space with these bright young minds, they are the future of music after all!

Q: I have a child that would like to take classes, can I come and stay on site as a guardian and not participate in classes?
A: Yes, while we would highly encourage you to pick up an instrument or take a vocal class we understand that this isn’t always an option. So here’s the deal: To make it as affordable as we can for families, we have created a no-classes camper category, This fee includes access to the evening concerts and community campfire session. All other costs (such as meals and camping) remain the same. We ask that those who choose this option are respectful of those paying full tuition and do not audit the camp classes.

Q: Should I bring my bike to Beyond Trad?
A: Sure! there is a great swimming hole nearby, lots of beautiful places to explore and you might even want it for getting around on site.
Q: Will I miss out on activities if I stay off site?
A: We expect that there will be music and jams happening until the wee hours, we have evening events planned and there is lots of room for tenting. It's a spectacular site. So it's up to you...
Q: I don't like hot dogs, will this kind of cuisine be a part of meals at camp?
A: Nope, no hot dogs here! Meals can be a big part of the community experience and we have a really great crew catering the event. They have been doing the food for VIMW workshops for the past 10 years, and get rave reviews every time.
